Denim Day: Why Is Denim Dan Wearing That Canadian Tuxedo?

Wednesday is National Denim Day, so don't be surprised if you see your co-workers sporting jeans to raise awareness of sexual assault.

If you notice a lot of jeans, jean shorts and denim jackets at City Hall Wednesday, consider donning some denim yourself as a message of solidarity against sexual assault.

The Denim Day campaign was started to raise awareness of sexual assault and it has some prominent local supporters. Monrovia Mayor Mary Ann Lutz is participating, according to her Facebook page. So is City Clerk Alice Atkins. The city proclaimed Wednesday "Denim Day" and April as "Sexual Assault Awareness Month," according to Atkins.

The Denim Day in LA web link is being shared all around Facebook and a #denimday hashtag is making the rounds on Twitter. And judging from Denim Day in LA's slow loading website, a lot of people are wondering what the day is all about.
