Live Entertainment Approved at Aztec Hotel's New Restaurant

The new Mexican restaurant opening in the old Brass Elephant location will be allowed to have live entertainment on a limited basis.

A new restaurant attached to the Aztec Hotel was granted a permit last week to hold live entertainment on a limited basis, according to Monrovia's Development Spotlight blog.

The Planning Commission approved the conditional use permit at its Dec. 12 meeting. The restaurant will be able to host live entertainment one weekend per month--On Friday and Saturday--until 11 p.m. and every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Residents living nearby called for restrictions to live music at the venue because of past noise issues with the Brass Elephant bar, the space's former occupant.
