Sheriff's Department Warns of SUV Car Seat Theft

Thieves in the San Gabriel Valley have been breaking into SUVs and taking GPS systems and the third row car seats, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Deputy Hector Figueroa of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department-Temple Station wrote the following on Nixle:

There has been a recent rash of vehicle burglaries involving the theft of "third row seats" from popular sport Utility Vehicles. There has also been thefts of portable navigation devices from the vehicles.

These burglaries have been reported across the San Gabriel Valley from Duarte to South El Monte. The thefts have occurred from residences, store parking lots, and a church parking lot.

Target vehicles are Tahoe, Suburban, and Escalade models. Be sure to properly secure your vehicles in a safe parking area, and remain watchful of persons around such vehicles.
