Tim Donnelly 'Going to Sacramento to Start the War'

Tea Party candidate for 59th Assembly District offers harsh words at Barstow rally.

Tim Donnelly, Republican candidate for California's 59th State Assembly District,  which includes Sierra Madre, spoke Wednesday at a Tea Party rally in Barstow ahead of the Nov. 2 election in which he hopes to best Democratic challenger and former Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff Darcel Woods. Donnelley is also facing Tony Tyler, small business owner and candidate for the Libertarian Party as well as Robert Gosney of the American Independent Party.

Speaking at a rally in Barstow Wednesday, Donnelly told cheering supporters that he was "going to Sacramento to start the war," as seen in the embedded video from YouTube user G3PRM.

The former Minuteman and candidate for the seat of embattled Republican Anthony Adams said he was "not going there to make bad backroom deals" or to "reach across the aisle to make friends."

"I'm going there to reach across the aisle to the enemies of freedom and annihilate them and pound them into the ground and take back our power," said Donnelly from atop the stage of the "Tea Party Express IV."

Donnelly went on to say that he believed the government is infringing on the rights of Americans and that "rabid environmentalism" could cost California its "entire trucking industry."  Referring to those who "worship at the altar of global warming," Donnelly said that the "Tea Party is the answer" and "we are winning."

Donnelly is thought to have a strong lead headed into next Tuesday's election with the 59th State Assembly District historically having a majority Republican electorate. Donnelly's campaign claims to have a 20 percentage point lead over Democrat Darcel Woods.

Donnelly's campaign rhetoric echoes the combative tone of many so-called "Tea Party" Republicans from across the country that seek to capitalize on what they see as a growing frustration with the last two years of Democratic leadership.

This article should have been titled "Loose Cannon Alert!"

This guy has been sheltered too long and is starting to believe his own campaign rhetoric! It reminds me of when Obama said that he would stop the seas from rising. This guy's follow through rate has a lot to be desired too. And, it's obvious that he hasn't even read the rules for the Assembly. Where does he intend to fight this war? On the Assembly room floor? The Sergeant At Arms will escort him out in handcuffs. Through legislation? They'll kill everything in committee. Through the media? Good luck.
The real war needs to be fought against the corrupt Republican Party. Something that this guy shows no appetite for. Just as an example, only about 1/2 of the Republicans voted against the latest budget sham. The rest either voted for it or apparently had better things to do than cast their vote (something that this guy does too). Where is the outrage and the bluster Mr. Donnelly?
The problem with California is the Republicans not the Democrats. Does he really believe that he is going to pound the Democrats into the ground? It sounds Messianic. So is this guy a Liar, a Lunatic, or a Savior? I'm going with Lunatic.

I can only imagine Mr. Gosney’s frustrations, also a candidate for the 59th Assembly District, a candidate without a 20 percent lead. Mr. Gosney obviously does not know Mr. Donnelly. I have know Mr. Donnelly for several years. Mr. Donnelly is a man of integrity and a man of his word and a man who follows through. Mr. Donnelly is man who stood on our borders to bring attention to the lack of security to our nation. Patriot not Pollitician!
Sad that some candidates still think they have to attack others to gain a few votes.

Donnelly did not show up for 3 out of the 4 debates, he missed 17 out of the last 30 elections and then tried to lie about it when it was exposed, he cut and ran from his border group. Past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior.
