Video: Detectives Investigating Possible Murder in Angeles National Forest

Homicide detectives are at Chantry Flats Campground to check out what's being classified as a fatal shooting, according to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department.

Homicide detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department are poring over the Chantry Flats Campground at Angeles National Forest to investigate what's been classified as a fatal shooting.

The incident was reported at 5:40 p.m. Thursday evening, according to authorities. A release from the Sheriff's Department said the victim was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. A motorcyclist told Sierra Madre police, who then contacted the Sheriff's Department.

Authorities let no one, even residents, enter the site until around 9:30 p.m., when some people were allowed in but asked to leave their vehicles behind.

A coroner's official said Friday morning that the man's body remains at the hospital and has not been identified  yet.
