Monrovia couple Javier Rodriguez and Andrea Tapia are competing in a contest to recreate an iconic World War II photograph of a sailor kissing a nurse in the hopes of winning a Hawaiian getaway.
A contest running through the end of the month sponsored by the Battleship Missouri Memorial invites contestants to "plant one on" while visiting Pearl Harbor in a tribute to this classic picture. The winners will get roundtrip airfare to Hawaii on Hawaiian Airlines and a two-night stay at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa.
