County-maintained roads and recreation areas in the Angeles National Forest will be off limits until Friday morning because of the potential for a destructive wildfire, Sierra Madre police said today.
Old San Gabriel Canyon Road, Santa Anita Canyon Road, Glendora Mountain Road, Angeles Forest Highway, Chantry Flats, Bailey Canyon Park and the Mount Wilson Trail are among the roads and recreation areas closed because of strong winds, high temperatures and periods where the relative humidity fall below 10 percent, according to police and the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works.
