Updated: Power Restored to All but 8 Customers Following Outage

The outage was caused by an equipment fire, according to Southern California Edison.

Power has been restored to all but eight customers following a outage that started on Monday, according to Susan Cox, a Southern California Edison spokeswoman.

Crews are in the process of repairing a pole that was damaged due to an equipment fire and hope to have power for the remaining eight customers back up by this afternoon, she said.

At one time, around 2,875 customers were without electricity.

Monrovia without power can expect to remain so until at least 2 p.m. today.

The outage, caused by an equipment fire, now is affecting 2,638 customers, according to Southern California Edison's website.

Crews are working to repair the equipment.

More than 2,800 Monrovia residents can expect to be without power until at least midnight Tuesday.

An equipment fire caused the outage at 6:57 a.m. today that has affected 2,875 customers, according to the Southern California Edison outage center website.
