Falling Power Line Delays Gold Line Service
Trains were led to sharing a single track on part of the line.
Gold Line passenger train service between Pasadena and Los Angeles was delayed Sunday morning because an overhead power line fell near Elysian Park.
Buses were used as a bridge for much of the early morning, but by 9 a.m. trains were again running on the entire Gold Line. The power problems meant trains had to share a single track on part of the line, meaning the normal Sunday schedule of one train every 12 minutes was reduced to one train every 20 minutes.
Spokeswoman Helen Ortiz Gilstrap said officials did not yet have a reason why an overhead wire fell on one of the two tracks north of Chinatown.
