Three occupants of a vehicle ended up in police custody after an officer discovered a gun, drugs and drug paraphernalia in their possession.
The traffic stop happened some time after 7 p.m. on Saturday. The trio were pulled over in the 700 block of South California Avenue after the officer observed the car make a traffic violation, said Sergeant Don Newton.
Arrested was Brandon Cantrell, 26, from Chino, on suspicion of possessing a loaded firearm, possession of marijuana for sale, transportation of marijuana for sale and possession of a controlled substance while armed with a firearm., police said.
Also arrested were Jason Deadman, 34, from Rancho Cucamonga, on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale, false impersonation of another and on an outstanding bench warrant; and Arianna Oyebanji, 22, from Garden Grove, on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia and on an outstanding bench warrant.
Oyebanji has since posted bond. Cantrell and Deadman are still being held at the Monrovia jail, Newton said.
Cantrell is scheduled to appear Aug. 14 at Pasadena Municipal Court. Information for the other two suspects was not readily available.
