Gourmet Hot Dog Restaurant Coming to Old Town

S'Links Gourmet Hot Dogs will open at Myrtle Avenue and Olive Avenue next Spring.

A S'Links Gourmet Hot Dogs franchise is coming to Old Town Monrovia in the Spring of 2013, Gem City Images reports.

Signs for the hot dog restaurant are posted outside a storefront on the corner of Myrtle Avenue and Olive Avenue, according to the blog.

S'Links will be the second restaurant in the area looking to capitalize on the gourmet hot dog trend after The Slaw Dogs opened in Duarte earlier this year.

OUTSTANDING !!!!! I love Hot Dogs, any shape or flavor. HOWEVER....I went to the SLAW DOG once. Way over priced.

I love hot dogs, so if these are good it will be great! The proof, of course, will be in the tasting. And that will only happen after the actual opening of the place. Nathan, our Patch editor, probably was not living here when the lobster franchise, the philly-steaks franchise, and other food places were loudly touted in local media months before their scheduled opening...that never happened. So, Nathan would not be aware how many Monrovians are wary of looking forward to these "openings": The location is secured, the signs are posted, the PR is out, but then the financing falls through at the last minute, and the place never opens. (Please see history of the site of T. Philips: it was for years posted as future home of a lobster place... But the franchise owners, after securing city support, Chamber of Commerce PR, taxpayer funded incentives via Redevelopment, etc. still did not have adequate financing to make it actually happen.) Let's wait to get excited until they are actually here. Intentions don't always become reality. (P.S.- Has anyone tasted this franchise's hot dogs elsewhere? Curious for a review.)

My most fave of all are from Carney's in H'wood. I hope they are that rockin' great! And it's near the pub where a gal can get a good brew to go with it!
