Monrovia's Friday Family Festival Turns 20 This Week

The weekly festival and farmer's market will mark its 20th anniversary Friday.

Monrovia's Friday Family Festival will celebrate its 20th birthday this week.

The festival along Myrtle Avenue that features food and crafts vendors is the largest of its kind in the state, according to the My Monrovia Business Blog. A special ceremony will be held Friday to commemorate the event's anniversary.

"To mark this occasion, a special ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. in the entertainment area with representatives from the city to acknowledge the very successful weekly event...," the business blog reports.

The celebration will include "farmer related" photo-ops, live music, and drawings for gift baskets with items from festival vendors.

I think it was better when they separated the non-food items from the actual food. They also are allowing people to bring their dogs. There are signs up that says they can't bring them but it is not being enforced. Other than that , it is a good place to go on a Friday night.
