Sam’s Mediterranean Kabob Room

Enjoy kabobs, gyros, and even belly dancing in the heart of Old Town.

Overview:  has been in Old Town Monrovia for 17 years and offers a variety of Mediterranean dishes as well as some American favorites. They also showcase Mediterranean music and belly dancers every month. Their next evening of live entertainment will feature singers, musicians, and belly dancing on Saturday, September 17th, at 7:30 p.m.

Décor: The spacious interior is decorated with a variety of artwork, including rugs, pottery, musical instruments, and pictures of locales in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Abu Dhabi. There are two dining rooms with ample space for banquets, parties and meetings, as well as a stage for musical entertainment. Seating includes booths and tables, window seating, and sidewalk seating under umbrellas on Myrtle Avenue.

Drinks: They serve a variety of wines and beers, including beverages from Greece, Lebanon, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Germany, and other European countries. Their non-alcoholic beverages include hot tea, coffee, espresso, hot chocolate, iced tea, and soft drinks.

Entrees: Dinner Plates ($8.99-$10.99) are served with salad, rice pilaf or French fries, and hummus and include Chicken, Beef, or Lamb Kabob; Lula Kabob (ground beef with onions and herbs broiled on a skewer); Gyro; Falafel; Lamb Shank; Top Sirloin; Mushroom Steak; Shrimp; Chicken Strips; Teriyaki Chicken or Steak; and Chicken or Lamb Brochet. They also offer Spicy Chicken or Beef marinated in red hot pepper sauce, and seafood dishes, which include Scampi Shrimp, Fish Kabob, Breaded Cob or Shrimp, and Shrimp Kabob. Kabob Combos ($10.99-$14.99) are served with rice pilaf, salad, French fries, and hummus and include Chicken & Lula, Chicken & Gyro, Beef & Lula, Lula & Gyro, Beef & Chicken, Lamb & Chicken, Top Sirloin & Shrimp, Top Sirloin Double Steak, and Top Sirloin Steak & Scampi.

Vegetarian: Vegetarian Specialties ($1.25-$7.99) include Spinach Pie, Falafel, Stuffed Grape Leaves, Foul (Fava beans, garlic, tomatoes and olive oil), Hummus, Mutable (charbroiled eggplant with sesame sauce and lemon), and the Vegetable Combo (with hummus, tabbouleh, mutable, grape leaves, and falafel).

Sandwiches: Kabob Sandwiches ($3.50-$4.75) include Beef, Chicken, Lamb, Lula, Falafel, and Gyro. Cold Sandwiches ($4.75) include Turkey, Roast Beef, and Submarine. Hot Sandwiches ($4.75-$5.25) include Tri-Tip, Pastrami, Roast Beef, Steak, Bar-B-Q Beef, and Chicken Breast. Charbroiled Burgers ($2.75-$4.25) include Hamburger, Cheeseburger, Double Cheeseburger, Pastrami Burger, and sides include French Fries, Onion Rings, and Fried Zucchini.

Soups and Salads: Soups ($2.50) include Chicken Noodle, Vegetable, and Lentil. Salads ($3.75-$7.99) include Tabbouleh, Chef Salad, Green Salad, Chicken Caesar, and Greek Salad.

Kids Menu: Chicken Strips, Turkey Sandwich, Cheeseburger, Roast Beef Sandwich, Hot Dog ($5.99).

Desserts: Desserts ($1-$4) include Baclava, Cheese Cake, Chocolate Cake, Funnel Cake.

Service: Host seating and self-seating. Reservations recommended for belly dancing nights.
