'A Taste of Old Town' Festival Returning in October

The food and wine festival will return to Myrtle Avenue on October 14.

The second annual "A Taste of Old Town" food and wine festival will return in October, the event's organizers have announced.

The festival will be held in on Oct. 14 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

"Local merchants and restaurants will participate in a festival of food, music and spirits," the event's Facebook page states. "This event takes place on Myrtle Avenue in Old Town Monrovia and will showcase local culinary arts and beverages."

More than which featured food and drinks provided by restaurants across the city. The event, put on by the Monrovia Kiwanis club, is a revival of the "Old Town Monrovia Food, Wine, and Jazz Festival" that was put on by the city until 2008.

Kiwanis President Julie Gentile said in an email that the club is "planning fiercely" for the event and has begun to recruit sponsors. Various sponsorship opportunities are listed in the .pdf document attached to this story.
