Have You Heard of CicLAvia?

The City of Los Angels is closing 10 miles of roadway to motorized traffic for much of the day - I encourage all to visit this very fun, family friendly event on Sunday. AND IT's FREE!!

 I took my family to the last CicLAvia event and it was wonderful. Just lots of people, walking, skating, biking, enjoying their community - No fights, no road rage, lots of happy people. A very nice break from these stressful times. I feel we would be wise to have something similar in the San Gabriel Valley. I’m a little pressed for time so I am just going to paste the email I received regarding the event details below:

“CicLAvia opens 10 miles of L.A. streets this Sunday April 15th 2012!
 
 The weather will be clear, sunny and gorgeous! There's lots and lots
 and lots going on at CicLAvia this Sunday April 15th 2012 from 10am to
 3pm. It's free! It's fun! You can walk, bike, skate, lunch,
 people-watch - as much or as little as you like. A quick run-down of

 Join Mayor Villaraigosa at the CicLAvia Kick-Off at 9:30am at El
 Pueblo

Be an ANGEL! Volunteer!

 More than 600 volunteers will be keeping things running safely and
 smoothly. We need a few more - especially afternoon shifts. Volunteer a
 couple of hours and enjoy CicLAvia the rest of the day. Groups,
 friends, families are all welcome! Details at the CicLAvia Volunteer
