Go Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Help raise awareness through boosting visibility and by sharing our breast cancer-related stories. Share yours with Monrovia Patch.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. And awareness of this deadly disease needs raising: According to statistics at BreastCancer.org, about 1 in 8 women in the United States (12 percent) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime.

For women in the U.S., breast cancer death rates are higher than those for any other cancer, besides lung cancer. We can raise awareness through boosting visibility and by sharing our breast cancer-related stories.

The pink ribbon has become the symbol for breast cancer awareness, so let your neighbors see you wear it: Wear a pink ribbon and snap a photo of yourself with it, or wear it and introduce yourself on video.
