Colorado Boulevard is scheduled to re-open to pedestrian and vehicular traffic this coming Sunday, May 19, 2013.

Here is a project overview provided by the GLCA:

  • Work will begin starting Monday, May 20 and continue for approximately seven months.
  • Over the next week, construction activity on Santa Anita Ave will result in removal of the center median of the street, installation of the barriers and other traffic control devices, and then closure of the lanes.
  • The right lanes on northbound and southbound Santa Anita Avenue will be closed approximately between Newman Avenue and Santa Clara Street.  These lane closures will be implemented beginning Friday, May 24th and continue for 4 months.
  • La Porte St will be closed at Santa Anita Ave for the first 4 months of work and access to La Porte will be off 1st Ave.
  • Pedestrians will be detoured around the construction area on Santa Anita Ave. A temporary pedestrian crossing will be installed when the barriers and other traffic control measures are installed.
  • A full closure of Santa Anita Ave will take place on Thursday, May 23rd from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. the following morning to set-up the traffic control for the first phase of lane closures.
  • One lane in each direction will remain open during the 4 month initial phase of construction.
