Monrovia's Best Bar: Where's the Best Place in Town to Get a Drink?

This week we ask readers to name the best watering hole in town.

What makes a good bar? Is it the service, the selection, the ambience, or the entertainment? Or all of the above?

There are plenty of places in town to grab a drink, so what makes your favorite bar special? Please vote in our poll and let us know what's so great about your go-to joint.

The list seems a little short, what about Opera, Mundial and Rudy's to name just a few?

I agree. You should have an option to write in an additional choice or say other. There are lots of other great choices in Monrovia.

Hey, I love the Claim Jumper bar, it's still in Monrovia

Indeed a short list! Are you only listing Children's Bars? How about California Wine and Cheese? That and Opera and Mudial, are nice QUIET places where one can converse without yelling. But then, that would mean you'd have something more intelligent to say than "Bro!" "DUUDE!" "YEEHAH! He scored!"

Love Sena because of the patio but London Pub has great service! Agree also with above comments because Devon has an amazing bar and great service as well.

My vote would be Rudy for sure. That's my write in vote.

Hi guys! I appreciate the feedback. I limited the list to places that are in the traditional bar category. If we added every restaurant with a bar we'd have too long a list. But write-ins are welcome!

I vote for Opera.

That's a tough choice - we have quite a few great choices. My 3 way tie is Bar O (next to Opera), Sena and T Philips. I guess I will vote for one a day!

I vote for Cafe Mundail!

It's not necessarily my favorite, but I would think Rudy's should be on the list since they have a Cantina in the back. I'm not sure if you can enter straight into the cantina from the street or not, but that part of Rudy's is definitely a traditional bar.

Cafe Opera would be my write in, since its really not an option I voted for T Phillips as I like them and their live bands best.

I vote for Gem City Grill! The atmosphere is great, the people are friendly, and the bartenders just kick a**! All of them! Just a great place to chill out & catch a game.
