Photo: Jackknifed Big Rig on 210 Freeway

Here's what it looked like when a truck carrying tons of grapes overturned on the 210 freeway last week.

From the Arcadia Fire Department's weekly activity report:

At 4:55 a.m. on Monday, May 20, Engine 106 and units from Monrovia Fire Department responded to a reported overturned big rig on the eastbound 210 Freeway at Huntington Drive. Fire crews arrived to find an overturned tractor trailer that had been traveling eastbound when the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to hit the center divider and overturn into the westbound lanes. Due to the accident, westbound lanes of the freeway were shut down for several hours while California Highway Patrol and Cal Trans up-righted and removed the vehicle and cleaned up the freeway. The driver was not injured.
