What Comes After Retirement for I'll Have Another?
After trainers surprisingly retired I'll Have Another Friday morning--ending his Triple Crown bid at the Belmont Stakes--owners said the horse will likely return to California to stud.
Will there be another I'll Have Another? Yes, if his owner decides to make the already studly horse a stud for good.
The local legend may have , but he will at least be living it up soon in California where he could become a stud horse for the rest of his days, owner J. Paul Reddam said Friday.
"Stud season is over this year and the horse I assume is going back to Hollywood Park, being in friendly surroundings and, I guess we would be open to talking about that at some point here," Reddam said, according to a press conference transcript on the Belmont Stakes website.

Not a bad life for a horse who first gained fame by winning the Santa Anita Derby before finishing first in the first two legs of the Triple Crown. Because he's a Kentucky Derby and Belmont winner, I'll Have Another could be worth "upwards of $10 million," ESPN reporter Jeannine Edwards said Friday.
Trainer Doug O'Neill, whose brother Dennis O'Neill of Monrovia scouted I'll Have Another for Reddam and recommended his purchase for a mere $35,000--said the horse will return to California on Sunday or Monday.
