Wildcats Athlete Competing in State Track Meet for First Time in Decades

Monrovia High School sophomore track star Sidney Mosley will compete in the CIF State track meet in Clovis this week, the first time a Wildcat athlete has qualified for the event in 32 years, the Whittier Daily News reports.

Mosley will run in the 100-meter hurdles. She qualified for the state meet by placing sixth in the event at the CIF-Southern Section Masters Meet at Cerritos College last week.

"Coach said, 'You can do this. You have the potential,'" Mosley told the paper. "One of my coaches told me I wouldn't be happy if I didn't make state. I'm happy now."
