Job Seekers All Day Event

The Monrovia Public Library will host it's 5th all day Job Seekers event on Saturday, January 5, 2013 in the Library Community Room. The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Monrovia Public Library.The program will cover segments on resumes, cover letters, and interviewing skills including how to prepare for phone interviews. An exciting he segment called "What's New in Job Seeking" will include a presentation by a motivational career coach and an introduction to the Library's new Job and Career Center. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet representatives from local job related organizations including LA Works and the Foothill Workforce Investment Board.What's New in Job Seeking  9am-NoonTriumphing over a tough job market takes skill. Motivational career coach Benjamin Brus gives you the tools to tackle the process. This segment includes an introduction to the Library's new Job and Career Center and a demonstration of the on-line job resources. Representatives  from Monrovia businesses will talk about job openings in their companies.Resumes that Rock.  1:30-3:00 p.m.Start with a catchy cover letter and continue to a resume that really rocks by emphasizing your strengths and minimizing your weaknesses. Learn formats, key phrases and how to show an employer what you can do for them.
