Patch Blog: 'Celebrate the Arts' in Library Park

Besides great art to stop you in your tracks this weekend there are ways you can help the Monrovia Association of Fine Arts.

I blogged it on my art blog and will do so here on Patch too.  This weekend is the 48th Annual Celebrate the Arts, a juried fine art event held in .  Aside from the great art available from the artists directly in their display spaces, there are ample chances to buy art at silent auctions and the like.  The proceeds from these events will go to help the Monrovia Association of Fine Arts continue its efforts to bring art to the community, and more importantly art education to local schools.

Here are some of the fund raiser thingy's we have going on at Celebrate the Arts.

  • Silent Auction, most of the artists at the Celebrate the Arts are donating a piece.  I've got a impressionistic piece in this auction of Monrovia High School.
  • Monrovia Artist Rick Kess and collaborated on making clocks for sale at the MAFA booth.
  • has art made by her dogs for sale.  25% of the proceeds will go to MAFA, the other 75% to other pet oriented charities.

Celebrate the Arts is held each year in Monrovia's Library Park.  It will be held this weekend, October 8 & 9th from 10AM - 6PM each day.  All the information you could ever want on this years event can be found on the MAFA Web.
