Foothill Unity Center Gives Food to More Than 1,400 Families for the Holidays

The Monrovia-based Foothill Unity Center enlisted 700 volunteers to distribute food to more than 1,400 families during the holiday season, reported the Pasadena Star-News.

The food distribution kicked off last weekend at the L.A. County Arboretum in Arcadia, with around 700 volunteers lending a hand. The center received $1,000 each from Simplicity Bank, the Volunteer Association of the San Gabriel Valley, and The Gas Co. at the event, the newspaper reported.

Each child received socks and hats from an organization called Simply Help, and Santa Claus stopped by to pose for photos, the newspaper reported.
