Monrovia Woman's Pies Win Prizes at LA County Fair
Jessica Kubel of Monrovia's Volunteer Center of the San Gabriel Valley took home first prize in the LA County Fair's pie baking contest with her Salted Caramel Peanut Butter Pie.
A Monrovia woman continued her pie baking prowess Sunday when she took home 1st Place at the Los Angeles County Fair's Pie Contest for her Salted Caramel Peanut Butter Pie.
Jessica Kubel, the volunteer coordinator for the Volunteer Center of the San Gabriel Valley, also won third place in Sunday's contest for her Lemon Icebox Pie with Sour Cream Topping. The wins extend her winning streak that began last year when she won second place in the fair's cookie contest.
Kubel will look to keep her winning streak going this Saturday when she enters her pies in the KCRW Good Food Pie Contest at the Los Angles County Museum of Art.
