Monrovia's Peach Cafe Helps Foothill Unity Center Collect Food, Donations

Get a free dessert at the cafe for your food or monetary donation to Foothill Unity.

Monrovia eatery The Peach Cafe is lending a helping dessert to the Foothill Unity Center.

Until Jan. 31, customers with the cafe's flyer and who also bring a canned food item or monetary donation for the Foothill Unity Center will get a free dessert of their choice.

Foothill Unity Center was founded in 1980 and is the main provider of food, crisis help, and access to health care resources across 11 cities in San Gabriel Valley, according to the organization.

The agency operates two locations in Monrovia and Pasadena and serves clients in Pasadena, Altadena, South Pasadena, Sierra Madre, Arcadia, Monrovia, Bradbury, Duarte, Azusa, Baldwin Park and Irwindale.

Of the clients it serves, 77 percent are at or below the national poverty level, according to Foothill Unity.
