Video: Sprinting Bear Too Slow for Monrovia Motorist

Monrovia Realtor Jacen Crehan captured this footage of a bear running in front of him as he and a friend drive through a Bradbury neighborhood.

"Go faster!"

Is that what you would say with a bear bumbling along just a few feet ahead of you?

That's what local Realtor and Kiwanis member Jacen Crehan said to the driver as they followed behind it in a Jeep through a Bradbury neighborhood.

As the fast, furry and furious creature slowed down, Crehan got closer and said "let's get some good footage" before the bear took a hard left and wandered out of view.

Correction: A previous version of this story said Crehan shot the video while cycling. We regret the error.

SIGH - he was wasn't telling the bear to go faster... He was talking to ME! As the driver of the jeep, I wasn't following close enough for him to get the "good footage". Nathan, the entire premise of your story is based on false assumptions and incorrectly paints Mr. Crehan in a negative light. Did you speak to anyone connected to the story, or did you just make stuff up?

Hi Kevin, if that's what he meant then it's my mistake! Certainly no negative light intended, just a fun little post about a bear running along. I've cleared it up, thanks for clarifying.

No sane cyclist is going to pursue a bear. Glad that was cleared up. Visitors to the neighborhood enjoy the local wildlife and like to take photos (or videos) but usually from the safety of their automobiles. It's part of what makes living in this area special.
