Patch Blog: If You Don't Vote, Don't Complain

The simple act of voting is the best way to enact change.

Everyone complains about the mess our government is in. Not just the Federal gov't but all the way down to the Grass Roots.

As I walked into Pavilions this morning, a young man was gathering signatures for issues to go on the ballot. I cannot tell you how many people walked past and did not stop to sign while I was explaining to him what the issues really mean. (After all, they are written in legalese to confuse the average reader.)

Many of the issues may be distasteful but how on earth can our representatives know what we want if we cannot vote on the issues?

Well folks, the issues will not appear on a ballot without enough signatures on petitions. AND the representatives won't know what we want if we don't vote.

If you are not already registered ~ OR~ you are and don't bother to vote, please get off your apathy and take action!

Thousands of people have died to give us the privilege of voting and to the voters of the feminine persuasion, please remember women died (about 100 years ago) so we could vote. It's insulting to every person who has died for us to be able to vote for us to not show up or chant, "I'm only one person, it doesn't matter."

"Only one person" has changed the course of history more than once, folks. One vote times a thousand = a stronger voice.
