Monrovia Teacher Wins $45,202 on "Jeopardy!"

Substitute teacher Claudia Gray won her third consecutive appearance on "Jeopardy!" Tuesday night, bringing her total winnings on the show to $45,202.

The substitute teacher who hails Monrovia continued her winning streak on Jeopardy! Tuesday, besting her competitors for the third straight show to earn a total of $45,202 in prize money.

Claudia Gray started very slowly Tuesday in a tightly contested match, falling several thousand dollars behind challengers Ed Hanlon of Santa Monica and Fran Frederick from Massachusetts. But she came roaring back during "Double Jeopardy," building a $2,000 lead before the final question.

She correctly answered "Mary Pickford" to a "Final Jeopardy" question asking contestants to name one of the first two women to own a motion picture studio (Lucille Ball was the other), winning by the narrowest of margins--$1--two days in a row.
