To the Monrovia Community, here is some exciting news about a local youth girls volleyball team. This post is to tell you about the Monrovia Starlings GU14 (girls under 14) volleyball team that is going to play in the USA Volleyball Girls’ Junior National Championships. This national tournament was formerly known as the Jr. Olympics and will be held in Columbus, Ohio, from June 30-July 3. The GU12 Monrovia Starlings won gold at the 2011 Tournament in Atlanta, Georgia.
During the season, the team competed against elite teams from California, Colorada, Arizona, Nebraska, and Hawaii. The team also played in the highest division in southern california against many challenging beach city club teams. It is truly amazing to have a team from Monrovia competing at such a competitive level.
