In Remembrance: Mary Kathleen "Kay"Callagy, Raymond Anthony Kenz

Mary Kathleen "Kay" Callagy

Mary Kathleen "Kay" Callagy, a longtime Monrovian, died Nov. 28. She was 80.

Callagy was born in Los Angeles June 1, 1933 and lived all of her adult life in the San Gabriel Valley. She was proceeded in death by her husbands Cliff LeRoy and Bill Callagy, as well as son Jim LeRoy.

Raymond Anthony Kenz

Raymond Anthony Kenz, one of the founders of the Monrovia-based business Southwest Fire Protection, died Nov. 19.

He died surrounded by his family at his Cathedral City home.

After some time in the Midwest, Kenz returned to California in 1952 with wife Billie and the first of the couple's nine children, locating in Arcadia.

Kenz and his father, along with Fred Baun, founded Southwest Fire Protection in Monrovia in 1960. Five generations of the Kenz family have worked in the family business.
