Sidewalks Are Made For Walking ...Except In North Monrovia.
What's with all the people up here - even women pushing strollers - walking in the street instead of using the darn sidewalks? I've just about had it with the human obstacles in the roadway. Bicyclists? OK. Joggers? Why not? They're moving with some speed and generally don't impede traffic. But three women walking abreast, chatting while taking their little tykes out for some fresh air, block traffic and endanger themselves and their kids. If walking in the road was a once and a while thing, it would be easy to ignore but it's become a "tradition". The paved roadway is for cars. The vehicle code requires pedestrians to move out of the way of cars if you HAVE TO walk in a roadway. If costly, taxpayer-subsidized sidewalks are available and you don't have to walk in the roadway, then don't. If you insist on walking in the roadway and blocking traffic, then don't be surprised if someone like me begins honking at you to remind you to get out of the way.
