MUSD Represented Well at the NAtional Jostens Renaissance Conference

Monrovia Unified was represented at the National Conference of Jostens Renaissance in Scottsdale, Arizona this weekend by a contingent of six student from Clifton Middle School and Monrovia High School.  Clifton principal Jennifer Gates and I had the honor of taking these great kids to the conference and presenting them the opportunity to learn from some of the legends in the organization, as well as many other schools and students who converged on Scottsdale from Thursday through Saturday.

They are excited to return to school in a few weeks and begin to implement the many ideas they learned about and continue to make an impact on their schools and the entire district and community.  The National Conference was attended by over 800 educators and students from all over the country.  The opening speaker was performance artist Erik Wahl and today's closing speaker was Erin Gruwell, the teacher that was the inspiration for the film "Freedom Writers"
