Updated: Big Rig Crash on 210 Freeway in Pasadena Stalls Westbound Traffic

The truck jackknifed and spilled a load of wood and metal sidings on the 210 freeway.

A big rig carrying a load of wood crashed today on the transition road from the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway back to the westbound 210 Freeway in Pasadena, temporarily blocking that roadway, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The single-vehicle crash took place just after 4 p.m., CHP Officer Tony Polizzi said.

Drivers need to take the transition road to get back on to the westbound 210 freeway after it splits off, Polizzi said.

No injuries were reported, he said.

The truck jackknifed and spilled its entire load of wood and metal sidings, Polizzi said.

The truck, wood and metal debris blocked both lanes of the transition road, he said. The CHP declared a SigAlert at 4:57 p.m.

The transition road was expected to be closed until at least midnight
for cleanup, Polizzi said.
