Collection Started to Help Monrovia Family Who Lost Home in Fire

A local resident is collecting money and clothes for a couple who lost their home and everything inside when a fire broke out in a bedroom this weekend.

Monrovia resident Janie Duncan is organizing a donation drive for an elderly couple who lost their home and all possessions in a house fire Sunday.

Duncan will be buying clothes for the family at the United Methodist Church's thrift store Tuesday and invited local residents to join her there between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. People interested in making donations can reach Duncan at the thrift store at 626-303-2783.

The family of the people who lost all their possessions in the house fire on Sunday came and picked up bags of clothes, bedding, toiletries. Cash and a gift card were donated to help buy necessities not donated. They have a place to stay for a couple of weeks and if they do move into an unfurnished house they will need more help at that time. You may contact Janie at 626 358 8157 or by email janieduncan@altrionet.com and she will see that any and all donation get to the family in Monrovia.
