Fake Earthquake Coming: Monrovia Holding Big Disaster Drill This Week

An emergency response drill involving nearly 70 people drill will be led by the Monrovia Fire Department.

From the city manager's weekly report:

The Monrovia Fire Department is leading an Emergency Response Drill from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday, April 18. The drill will involve nearly 70 people, made up of City Hall employees, CERT volunteers.

The drill will simulate an earthquake event that will result in a damaged reservoir. Activities will take place at Station 1, Station 2 and at an apartment located at 2055 S. Myrtle Avenue.  Be advised, this event is staged (not real).  These drills prepare the City in the event of a real disaster.
