Investigation into Citrus College Bomb Threat Yields No Arrests

Caller said 'I've got a bomb. I'm going to bomb the place.'

Police have not been able to identify a suspect and have not received any tips or leads in the investigation of a bomb threat called into Citrus College last week, according to Lt. Tim Staab of Glendora Police.

Staab said that the call was made from a payphone somewhere in Glendora.

The call came in at 2:52 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, and was made to the college’s general information line, according to Staab.

The male caller muffled his voice to disguise his identity. The caller said “Citrus College, I’ve got a bomb. I’m going to bomb the place,” According to Staab.

Glendora Police sent two officers, three detectives and one supervisor to the campus to work in conjunction with Citrus College Campus Safety.

“We had Citrus College security accompany us because on bomb threats, we don’t know what looks out of place and what looks normal,” Staab said.

At about 4:15 p.m. Campus Security began evacuating some buildings on campus.

One professor, who asked not to be identified, was working on midterm reviews in when security entered and ordered the evacuation. The building was locked and students and faculty were told to stay at least at least 100 feet away from any structure, according to the professor.

A floor-by-floor search of the campus revealed nothing.

Citrus College resumed normal operations around 5 p.m., according to Staab.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call the Glendora Police Department at (626) 914-8250.
