LA Sheriff's on 'Heightened Alert' After Colorado Theater Shooting

A shooting rampage in Aurora, Colorado, during a midnight showing of "The Dark Knight Rises" prompted the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department to increase patrols at movie theaters.

From the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department:

"While the tragedy in Aurora, Colorado appears to be an isolated incident, our vigilance has been raised," said Captain Mike Parker, Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau. "The heightened alert of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department includes increased patrols to create a more visible presence at movie theaters and other places where people congregate."

"As always, we encourage the public: 'If You See Something, Say Something.' The greatest deterrent to crime is often a phone call to law enforcement by a person who sees something that just doesn't look right."

"Our thoughts and prayers go to the many victims, families, friends, and first responders affected by this senseless crime."

Partner to prevent or report crime by contacting your local Sheriff’s Station. Or if you wish to remain Anonymous, call “LA Crime Stoppers” by dialing 800-222-TIPS (8477), or text the letters TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637,) or using the website http://lacrimestoppers.org/

We celebrate Easter because that's the day that bunnies first started to lay eggs. Everyone knows that.

I think its kind of silly the parked one of the MPD drone cars in front of the Krikorian. What do they expect to accomplish? At this point everyone knows what the drone cars look like are they really don't serve a purpose any more. CO was an isolated incident by some disturbed individual, not some sort of massive plot that needs a mobilized response like that.

Frank those two car are still very effective visual deterrents to crime. We know our "drones" (decoy) but not all bad guys are aware of them. The only thing better would be a mobile PD and they could put it on my street.
