Monrovia Fire Department Seeks to Change Logo, Rebrand

The Monrovia Fire Department is planning a new look to its logo and a re-branding effort.

The department tonight will present the altered logo to the Monrovia City Council tonight.

"Monrovia Firefighters no longer play checkers in the fire house and wait two to three days for the next fire call," Chief Chris Donovan wrote in a report to the council. "In fact, they routinely run 10 emergency calls for services each day, train two to three hours a day, perform inspections and complete many other high level administrative functions."

The fire department is "full-service" and "all-risk," Donovan said.

The new logo will let residents, business owners, and visitors to the city know that it is a fire and a rescue department by including both of those terms.

The new log will be place on all apparatus, he said.

There will be no fiscal impact to the city, he added. The department has the $3,600 to have the logo added to its equipment in a fund.

The Monrovia City Council meets at 7:30 p.m. tonight at City Hall.
