Monrovia Firefighters to Climb 1,400 Skyscraper Stairs for Charity

Firefighters from the Monrovia Fire Department will ascend 1,400 steps as part of the American Lung Cancer Association's 2013 Fight for Air Climb.

Monrovia firefighters will climb the stairs of Los Angeles' second-tallest building in full firefighting gear to raise money for the American Lung Cancer Association.

The 2013 Fight for Air Climb challenges firefighters to ascend steps of a skyscraper to raise money to fight lung cancer. Firefighter/paramedic Jason Norton is leading the effort in Monrovia.

"A lot of the guys have shown a great deal of interest towards doing it, which will give camaraderie towards each other and towards a good cause," Norton said in a written statement.
