Monrovia Liquor Store Clerk Arrested for Allegedly Selling Marijuana on the Job

The man was released on bail Friday, according to City News Service.

A local liquor store clerk was freed on bail Friday after being arrested for allegedly selling marijuana while working at a Monrovia liquor store.

Johnny Souhiel Khalil, 29, of Burbank, was arrested Thursday and booked on suspicion of selling marijuana and possessing stolen property, according to John Carr, a spokesman for the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

Khalil was caught selling marijuana to undercover officers on three separate occasions while working at the liquor store on Duarte Road and is also accused of arranging the sale of property he knew to be stolen, Carr said.

The owner will also likely face charges, Carr said.

"In addition to the criminal charges against the suspect involved, the
department expects to file accusations against the licensee,'' Carr told City News Service.
