Monrovia Man Confronts Suspected Burglar, Friend with Sword; both Arrested

Jesse Rolan Runge, 35, and Jeremi Hoover Webber, 29, were both behind bars Wednesday.

A Monrovia man was arrested after he confronted a friend he suspected of burglarizing his home with a sword and knife.

Jesse Rolan Runge, 35, was booked Wednesday on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, reported the San Gabriel Valley Tribune. Jeremi Hoover Webber, the 29-year-old alleged burglar who suffered a minor cut in the incident, was booked on suspicion of burglary and drug possession, the newspaper reported. Webber also is a Monrovia resident.

When Runge came home just before midnight Tuesday, he discovered his home in the 200 block of Valle Vista Avenue had been burglarized. One of the missing items was his iPad, which had tracking software that Runge used to locate it at Webber's home in the 400 block of East Foothill Boulevard, the newspaper reported.
