Motorist Crashes into Fire Hydrant in Monrovia, Arrested on Suspicion of DUI

Police say the driver tried to leave the scene of the collision Tuesday night.

A motorist who plowed into a fire hydrant in Monrovia Tuesday night was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reports.

The Fontana man also narrowly missed several parked cars while driving erratically and allegedly fled the scene after the collision with the hydrant on Mountain Avenue north of Foothill Boulevard, the paper reports. He was cited and released Wednesday.
