A pedestrian suffered serious injuries Wednesday morning when she was struck by a car between Santa Monica Place and Sears.
The pedestrian, an adult female, was taken to a local trauma center, according to the Santa Monica Police. The extent of her injuries was unkown, said Sgt. Richard Lewis.
The driver of the car that hit her is cooperating with the investigation.
"She was in the roadway... we don't know whether she was there legally or illegally," Lewis said. "It's too early."
A one-block stretch of eastbound Colorado Avenue between Main and Fourth streets was closed while Santa Monica Police investigated. The department's major accident investigation team responded.
