Once upon a time, there were 3 bears. The Duarte Bear, the Bradbury Bear, and the Get the Heck Away from My Tree Bear. Poor things are probably half scared to death and just hungry. Given the no-rain winter that was preceded by a gutting of native vegetation, these babies are just probably hungry. It's probably best if folks treat their trash in the area as you would when camping. Lock it down if possible. And as exciting as it is to see these guys, leave them alone and call the authorities. A frightened bear can do a whole lot worse damage than one that is just hungry for avocados and such.
