Police Arrest 14-Year-Old Accused of E-Mailing Bomb Threat

Teen is described by authorities as a student of Arcadia High School.

Arcadia Police arrested a teenager Wednesday, accusing him of purporting a bomb was on campus, forcing the school to go on lockdown as authorities searched the campus for a device.

The 14-year-old student was arrested after an investigation by detectives and booked on suspicion of making criminal threats and is being held at Eastlake Juvenile Hall in Los Angeles, according to Lieutenant Bob Anderson of the

The threat was e-mailed to the school. The school's 3,800 students sheltered in place while police and school officials poured over the school to search for a potential bomb. Nothing was found and students were allowed to leave just before 3 p.m., Anderson said.
