GPS System Leads Police to Stolen Vehicle

Authorities were alerted to reportedly stolen vehicle, Sheriff's Department working on returning it owner.

Monrovia Police recovered a stolen vehicle Sunday morning after being alerted by a GPS tracking company to the car's whereabouts.

Police were notified about 8 a.m. that the car was located in an alleyway behind the 200 block of West Walnut Avenue, according to Lieutenant Nels Ortland.

The 2000 Buick was reportedly stolen out of the Lancaster area. At this time, authorities do not have any suspects identified, or in custody. The vehicle has since been towed by by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and is being examined for fingerprints.

It was not known if the vehicle was returned to its owner.
