Randone Trial: Prosecution Expects to Rest Case Monday

Attorneys are expected to begin putting on the defense for Brian Lee Randone, who is charged with murder and torture for allegedly killing adult film actress Felicia Lee in Monrovia in 2009.

Prosecutors are expected to rest their case Monday in the trial of Brian Lee Randone, who is accused of murdering and torturing adult film actress Felicia Lee in Monrovia in 2009.

Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Philip Wojdak told Pasadena Superior Court Judge Dorothy Shubin last week that he will wrap up his case by Monday afternoon. He still intends to call Brian Schoonmaker, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detective who investigated Lee's death, to the witness stand, he said.

The medical examiner who performed Lee's autopsy that she was forcibly smothered to death. when paramedics found her dead and naked on the floor of Randone's apartment in the 500 block of West Duarte Road on Sept. 11, 2011.

Randone's attorneys have argued that , commonly referred to as the date rape drug.

The trial began on Nov. 17 and was in recess for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Testimony is scheduled to resume at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
