Trial Begins This Week for Teacher From Monrovia Accused of Molesting Students

Jury selection is expected to begin Tuesday in the trial of Wade Bughman, a Monrovia man accused of sexually assaulting his students at a Duarte elementary school.

Jury selection is scheduled to start Tuesday in the trial of a Monrovia man accused of molesting and sexually assaulting his students while he taught at a Duarte elementary school.

Wade Joseph Bughman is charged with 11 counts of molestation and sexual abuse for allegedly assaulting seven different students at Beardslee Elementary School between 1997 and 2010.

Bughman was arrested in Apple Valley in June 2010 after several students came forward and accused him of abuse. He was placed on leave in April 2010 by the Duarte Unifed School District after administrators were alerted to the alleged abuse by responses in a school survey.
