Thomas Edward Horn's daughter lives in Oregon and corresponds with her father via e-mail and cell phone. She last saw her father in 2006, but received an e-mail from him Sunday at 7:30 PM.

Horn, 56, had recently been released from an involuntary psychiatric hold. In the e-mail he sent Sunday to his daughter, Horn stated he would not make the mistake of being placed on a psychiatric hold again and has already said his goodbyes.
